Inner Sky

Your mood, painted as weather.

Privacy

Last updated 22 September 2026.

A mood is about as personal as data gets, so Inner Sky is built so that it never has to leave your hands. There is no Inner Sky server, no account, and no analytics. We do not collect any data from the app.

What stays on your iPhone

Your check-ins (weather, intensity and time), the reasons and notes you add, breathing minutes, and the forecast and patterns the app works out from them are stored on your device. Widgets read the same local data. Nothing is uploaded to us.

iCloud backup (optional)

If you turn on “Back up skies to iCloud” in Settings, a copy of your pinned days is kept in your own private iCloud key-value storage, which only you can read through your Apple ID. It is off by default and you can turn it off at any time, which removes the backup copy.

Apple Health (optional)

If you connect Health, Inner Sky reads your sleep and step count to sharpen your forecast. Those readings are used on the device only and are never uploaded. If you turn on Health sync, the app can also write each pinned sky to Health as a State of Mind entry, so it sits alongside your other Health data. You can revoke either permission at any time in the Health app or in Inner Sky’s Settings.

Calendar (optional)

If you connect Calendar, Inner Sky counts how many events fall on each day to estimate how busy it is. It does not read event titles, locations, attendees or notes, and the count stays on the device.

Notifications

Morning forecasts, evening notes and check-in reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. They can be turned off in Settings at any time.

Inner Sky Plus

Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple’s handling of that purchase is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.

No tracking

Inner Sky contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising identifiers and no usage reporting. The App Store privacy label for Inner Sky is “Data Not Collected”.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes every sky, reason and note from your iPhone. If iCloud backup was on, turn it off first to clear the backup copy. Health entries written by Inner Sky can be deleted in the Health app.

Children

Inner Sky is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date.
